Wig Attachment and Care InstructionsAdhesive: Ultra Hold
Supplies Needed: * Scalp Protector
* Lace Release
* Ultra Hold
* C-22 Citrus Remover
A lot of care has gone into the creation of your unit. With proper care, your unit will last for up to a year. The following instructions are for caring for your lace wig. The method of bonding requires the area to be hairless in order to properly and securely attach the wig. You may want to position the unit an inch in front of your hairline to avoid contact with your own hair.
Step 1:Prep Your Hairline The first step is to cut the lace back to the hairline. Be careful not to cut any of the hair. Place the wig on your head. Position the wig hairline about ¼ cm in front of your actual hairline so you don’t have to worry about the glue touching your hair. Once you are satisfied with the matching of the wig and your hairline, trim the lace back to the hairline and match it with your own hairline to ensure a natural appearance.
Step 2:Clean area and Use Scalp Protector (optional) around the perimeter of your head to ensure a clean base. Start with the front of your head and then attach the back, and finally the sides. Please use a skin protector to create a layer between your skin and the glue to avoid dermatitis. Oily skin weakens the bond of the adhesives and prevents the strongest hold. Allow the Scalp Protector to dry before applying the glue.
Step 3:Adhesive Application
Ultra Hold DirectionsUse Ultra Hold very sparingly, a little goes a long way. Use either the brush that is attached to the jar or a small, thin item such as an eye shadow brush to apply the adhesive. Apply a
thin coat of glue around the perimeter. Use a cool blow dryer to for about 30-45 seconds to dry the glue until it's tacky/sticky. The glue takes about 15 minutes to get tacky, please do now apply the lace onto the glue until it's very sticky or your wig will lift in a couple of days. You may use Blue Liner Tape a couple of inches before your hairline to provide support. The combination of Blue Liner Tape and Ultra Hold should allow for a 3-week hold. This is highly recommended for first time users, you’ll develop your own application techniques with practice. Use a blow dryer on cool heat (lowest setting, never hot) to dry the glue until it is a little sticky to the touch. Press the unit and glued area together and apply constant pressure until the unit stays by itself. This may take 1 minute or longer, but be patient. Patience is key in this process. Repeat the steps for your nape and sides. Before you style the wig please wait 15 minutes to allow the glue to adhere and completely dry.
Wig Removal Instructions- Ultra Hold * C-22 adhesive remover
* Lace Release, and 99% Alcohol will assist in removing your unit.
Spray C-22 generously and allow the glue remover to work. Do not pull or tug the lace, it will damage your lace and your hair. Alternate between using C-22, Lace Release, and the 99% Alcohol to remove your lace. Do not pull the lace or attempt to force it off, or you may damage your skin also. You should be able to roll the excess glue off of your skin and wig once the remover has set. Please call me anytime during this process to discuss any questions you may have at (713) 665-3244.
Adhesive: Endura Bond
Supplies Needed: * Scalp Protector/Skin protector
* Endura Bond Remover
*
Optional: Super Tape and Toothbrush (You will dip the tooth brush into a bowl of endura bond remover to remove excess glue Rat Tail comb for glue application)
Step 1:Apply skin protector on the perimeter of your head to ensure an oil free area.
Step 2:Spray a thin layer of our Skin Protector to create a thin layer between your skin and the glue. This will aid in protecting your skin from irritation. You may also use Super Taper to place a layer between the glue and your skin. Tape allows the unit to stay on longer as well.
Step 3:Position the Lace Unit on your head in order to visualize the amount of lace that will need to be cut. Cut the lace back evenly according to your hairline. Position the unit on your head exactly where you want it to sit. Use bobby pins to hold the unit on your head.
Step 4: Take a small amount of Endura Bond (about the size of a pencil point) and apply to your forehead one inch at a time. Start with your forehead and work your way to the sides. Spread it an inch wide and press the lace down on it. Apply light pressure to the lace in order to ensure a firm hold. When you are applying the unit to your sides, apply the Endura Bond and turn your head the opposite way, so you will not experience pinching if you used too much during application. Repeat these steps for the entire perimeter of your head. Use a very little amount, because use of too much causees white flaking and hardened lace in which you will remove with a toothbrush and the remover.
Step 5:For the nape of your neck you must tilt your head down to your chest to ensure you have enough room to move your head freely. If not, you will feel discomfort from pinching of your neck as a result of glue applied incorrectly.
OPTIONAL: You may use Super Tape on your skin and apply Endura Bond onto the tape in order to increase the hold for an addition 2 weeks. Wrap the perimeter with a scarf to hold down edges. If you get the glue in your hair, use a toothbrush soaked in the remover to gently remove the glue or any residue. Excess glue dries hard and may appear white. Be sure to use as little as possible when applying the glue.
Removal of Endura BondUse a toothbrush to gently rub the remover onto your lace. This process could take an extended amount of time. Once the unit is removed, soak the entire lace wig in a bowl of Endura bond remover for 30-45 minutes and gently use a toothbrush to remover the glue once it has softened. Do not put anything else on your unit, including water or any other adhesive remover, because it will not work properly. You may allow your unit to soak in a bucket of the adhesive remover for an hour or as long as needed. Best results occur after a few hours.
