Washing Your Wig

      *   Curly Hair:  Any silicone-based shampoo is recommended. Avoid products with Alcohol, which dries the hair.

      *   Straight Hair:  Tresseme Shampoo and Conditioner Once it is cleaned to your satisfaction, use a large towel to wrap wig and  gently squeeze excess water out of the wig. If you don’t have time, use a blow dryer on a low setting to gently dry your unit. If you follow these instructions, your unit should last a year.

HOW TO WASH A LACE WIG

Learning how to properly care for your lace wig will allow you to enjoy the unit for much longer. Although you can do this without a problem; Avoid washing your lace wig while it’s still attached on your head. In order to properly care for your lace unit, it is much better to shampoo and condition it while it is on a mannequin.

Supplies required:
      *   Wide Tooth comb
      *   Wig Head/ Mannequin
      *   Tdi Knot Sealer (new product)
      *   Hand Towel

Step 1: Use a wide tooth comb to gently comb hair to free of any tangles.

Step 2: Position your lace wig on the wig head form in a sink or bathtub and saturate the hair with warm water while still on the wig head. Squeeze enough shampoo to saturate the hair from root to tip in your palms and gently massage the hair. Repeat to ensure hair is clean from product and shampoo. Do not rub the hair during the washing process, as that may cause tangling. Also keep the wig on the head form in an upright position, to avoid tangling of the unit.

Step 3: Apply a deep conditioner to the wig in the same manner the shampoo was applied, and allow it to penetrate for 10 minutes, ensuring all strands are covered. Use cool water to rinse the conditioner, ensuring all residue has been removed.

Step 4: Once all conditioner has been removed from the hair, gently squeeze the hair to reduce the amount of water. Use a wash cloth to gently soak excess water. For curly hair, use Redken curl defining products and frizz reducer for the best results.

Step 5: Turn wig in side out and place the wig on your mannequin so that the lace is exposed. Spray the unit with the TDI Knot Sealer, which prevents excess shedding.

Step 6: Allow wig to air dry. When dry, avoid excessive combing. Style as desired with flat iron or curler.

*Tip- It’s recommended to wash your unit once every two weeks to avoid excess wear on lace and hair. Use dry shampoo in the interim to remove excess product build up.
